AXE IN LOK PARITRAN!
Passionate young men made a fool out of 30K odd voters!
Perhaps, politics is never a game for educated young men. While a newly formed party Lok partitran had a satisfactory support from public in recent election, they have proved voters wrong.
IIT and IIMs are India's pride. Those are institutes even the best in the world will find hard to get in. 5 wise men from IITs who have completed their post-grads/docs in U.S have quit their fortune-making careers to create a party called "lok Paritran". I, like many other citizens who have never voted before was excited to see young, wise men willing to create a change and hold the horns. I personally persuaded many (even a ADMK Counselor’s son) to cast their vote for LP. They were all asking just one question. How can you trust a party that's not even proved or contributed anything yet. Is not "Known devil better than an unknown angel?". The answer from LP's Tanmay helped me answer them. “You don't need experience to make the first step" I persuaded them explaining an established party with full of rotten politicians and just 1 good politician won't make any difference. Just like how "JFK" was eliminated when he wanted peace ties with Vietnam and Cuba when his bureaucracy team wanted war (as some politicians owned companies that supplied arms and supplies to army which is a USD 100Billion activity!!), good leaders will face the same end with their existing corrupt party members. Only a new party with like minded enthusiasts who see the dire need for change in politics can do it. My friends were persuaded and I saw many casting their votes for Lok Paritran. The results were satisfactory when Lok Paritran bagged over 30,000 votes in TN.
soon after, Lok partitran seemed to start revealing it's crack that wasn't visible from my angle until elections. Success has many fathers, failure has none. Few key party men want to move out and start a new party!. They wanna be fathers of a new success story. They made a fool out of 34,000 voters who have put their future 5 years on this inexperienced team. My friends were right. I was wrong. This is not the winning horse, it seems...and I doubt if I will bet on it again.

Power corrupts would be apt to describe the situation. Nice write up on the expectations from a new party, however, one that fell flat at the end. I could probably relate the situation to Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle wherein observation and measurement cannot be done independently without disturbing the other. In a similar way you can't wish to get into politics and also remain clean.
One point that really blows my mind is, if guys from IIT/IIM would have such an attitude, I shudder to think about the rest!
first of all you cast your vote thinking that these people will actually make a difference and even though they did split they ARE making changes.while you sit and analyze with all your little voting friends how these people are all just talk they are in reality playing a much bigger role in making our political system a better place.if you hold a party splitting a reason as to not vote for them then i wont be surprised if you never again vote.
